Recently, the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation (CPCIF) unveiled the lists of “Energy Efficiency Pacesetters” and “Water Efficiency Pacesetters” for key products in the petroleum and chemical industry for the year 2022. Sinochem Quanzhou Petrochemical was honored as the “Energy Efficiency Pacesetter” Benchmark Enterprise for Ethylene by CPCIF for its performance in 2022.

Sinochem Quanzhou Petrochemical operates an ethylene cracker with an annual production capacity of 1 million tons, a designed operating time of 8,000 hours, and an operational flexibility ranging from 60% to 110% of its design capacity. The facility was completed and handed over for intermediate commissioning in December 2019 and commenced production at the end of September 2020. In 2022, despite the challenging operating environment in the petrochemical industry, Sinochem Quanzhou Petrochemical ranked fifth in the sector by energy efficiency in ethylene products, with a comprehensive energy consumption of 594.9 kilograms of standard oil per ton of ethylene.
