Recently, with full support from Sinochem Petrochemical Distribution, Qingdao Port completed the bunkering of 214 tons of marine methanol fuel for the vessel COSCO SHIPPING Carnation. This marks the first marine methanol bunkering operation at ports in Shandong Province, positioning Qingdao Port as one of the few domestic ports capable of methanol fueling. The operation was featured on CCTV’s prime-time news program.
This operation represents another significant breakthrough for Sinochem Petrochemical Distribution in green shipping energy supply, following its support for the first methanol bunkering operation for the vessel COSCO SHIPPING Yangpu at Shanghai Port in May. It further expands the company’s methanol fuel supply network coverage across coastal ports.
As the key supply chain partner for this bunkering operation, Sinochem Petrochemical Distribution strictly followed international marine fuel standards in sourcing methanol. In collaboration with professional carriers, the company optimized transportation plans, precisely controlled delivery timelines, and provided full support to China Marine Bunker in completing the vessel refueling process, demonstrating efficient cross-unit and multi-stage system collaboration capabilities.
Sinochem Petrochemical Distribution has gradually developed its integrated methanol fuel supply capabilities, encompassing resource organization, logistics coordination, and on-site operations. Looking ahead, the company will continue to refine its green methanol supply chain service system, actively support low-carbon transitions in domestic and international shipping, and contribute to the achievement of China’s “dual carbon” goals.
