Recently, all three core degassing silos for Sinochem Quanzhou Petrochemical’s 100,000-ton/year EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer) capacity expansion project have been successfully hoisted into place, marking a solid step forward and enabling faster project progression.

Each degassing silo in this batch, measuring 4.76 meters in diameter and 27.7 meters in length, weighing 23 tons, presented installation challenges due to its dimensions. To ensure smooth installation of the silos, Sinochem Energy’s Project Center coordinated efficiently with manufacturing, transportation, construction, and supervision teams. They meticulously planned responsibilities for quality control, transport route surveys, and hoisting scheme design: strengthening welding quality supervision; optimizing transport logistics, and adopting the “single-host crane delivery method” for safe hoisting. The project avoided peak construction periods, accomplishing the silo hoisting without disrupting production.
