On July 25, 2019, the 2018 Energy Efficiency Forerunner Conference of Petroleum and Chemical Industry & Energy Conservation Technology Exchange and Promotion Conference, which was sponsored by China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, China National Chemical Economic and Technical Development Centre and China Chemical Energy Conservation Technology Association, was held in Yingkou City, Liaoning Province. Sinochem Quanzhou Petrochemical Co., Ltd. (Sinochem Quanzhou Petrochemical) was awarded the “Energy Efficiency Forerunner Benchmark Enterprise in 2018 (Crude Oil Processing)”. Assistant General Manager of Sinochem Quanzhou Petrochemical Chen Xiaoguang and Engineer Gong Wei were awarded the “Excellent Energy Conservation Manager of Energy Efficiency Forerunner Enterprise in Petroleum and Chemical Industry in 2018”. Sinochem Quanzhou Petrochemical won this honor for third time after 2015 and 2017.

To implement the concept of low-carbon development advocated by China and fulfill responsibilities of the state-owned enterprise, Sinochem Quanzhou Petrochemical has formed a sound carbon emission management system to promote carbon reduction through energy conservation and enhance energy conservation by carbon reduction, and embarked on the development path of the virtuous cycle of promoting both high energy efficiency and low-carbon emissions. Taking “management + technology” as the driving force, Sinochem Quanzhou Petrochemical has improved the efficiency of green and low-carbon development by continuously carrying out technological energy conservation innovation, energy consumption quota management, energy consumption index competition, etc. The unit energy factor consuming of oil refining in Sinochem Quanzhou Petrochemical decreased from 7.18kg standard oil/ton - energy factor in 2017 to 6.88kg standard oil/ton - energy factor in 2018, which was 0.87kg standard oil/ton - energy factor lower than the design value, ranking the third in the same industry in China and achieving remarkable results.

In the future, Sinochem Quanzhou Petrochemical will take “recycling of resources, efficient use of energy, minimization of environmental emissions” as its goal, be committed to promoting green and low-carbon development, and strive to build a world-class refining base with advanced technology and international competitiveness.
